Mr. David C. Butler, age 67, of Lucedale passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Harleston to the late Mr. Will “Cleave” and Mrs. Malvolean “Pie” Butler. He worked most of his life as a welder for the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. But his passion was working on old cars and trucks. He was a member of Full Life Assembly of God in Hurley. He was a hard-working husband, father, pawpaw and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Will C. and Malvolean Jackson Butler; brothers, Billy Wayne Butler, Gary Paul Butler and Ronald Roger “Buckwheat” Butler; sisters, Glenda Faye Woodard and Linda Sue “Buzzy” Etheridge.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 49 years, Rita Butler; children Wanda Dunnam and Angel (Glenn) Kent; grandchildren, Will, Josh and Rayna Strickland, Brittnay, Tara, Zack, Chase and Seth Kent; great-grandchildren, Dizabelle, Henasea, Brantley, Liam, and Wade; siblings, William “Booboo” (Dale) Butler, Carey “Mack” (Norma) Butler and Danny “Dinker” (Sara) Butler; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Visitation for Mr. David Butler will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM at Movella Missionary Baptist Church. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:30 PM in the church sanctuary with Bro. James Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Movella Missionary Baptist Church cemetery.
