Doris Lanora (Weeks) Bufkin

Mrs. Doris Bufkin, age 79, of Lucedale passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Lucedale to the late Verlon and Nora Weeks. She graduated from Lucedale High School in 1956. She owned and operated a successful local business, Bufkin Tackle Shop, for over 50 years with her husband. She was awarded Business Woman of the Year from the George County Chamber of Commerce. When not working, she could be found gardening and fishing. Upon retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also had more time to travel and enjoyed seeing the sights with her family.  

She is preceded in death by her husband, Pat Bufkin; parents, Verlon D. and Nora Howell Weeks.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Karen (Eugene) Cooper, Scotty Bufkin, Beth (Keith) Ray and Byron (Angie) Bufkin; grandchildren, Patrick Marshall, Lauren Ray, Timothy Cooper, Alex Cooper, Jared Ray, Lee (Stephanie) Bufkin and Hannah Bufkin; great-grandchildren Carter Bufkin and Gracelynn Bufkin; sisters, Helen (Joe) Mixon, Marie Bufkin, Alice Davis, Mary Lee, Donnie (Dan) Rush and Lois Weeks; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  

The Visitation for Mrs. Doris Bufkin will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service for Mrs. Doris Bufkin will begin at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Burial will follow in Agricola Cemetery. Donations may be made in Mrs. Bufkin's name to the Agricola Cemetery Fund.
