J. H. Mullis, Jr.

J. H. Mullis, Jr., age 79, of Lucedale passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Chester, Georgia to the late Mr. J. Homer and Mrs. Ruth Lupo Mullis. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and served his country for over 23 years. He was proud of his service and enjoyed telling his family many stories from travels. After retirement from the military, he worked for Cable One in Pascagoula for many years. Later in his life he found joy in wood-working and computer maintenance. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his companion dog Chico. He was a talented, unique man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.                

He is preceded in death by his parents, J. Homer and Ruth Mullis; brother, Jerry Mullis.  

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Kenneth Mullis, James (Kelly) Mullis and Frank Mullis; daughter, Sue Elaine (Arthur) McGee; grandchildren, Cassie Emmitt, Casey Mullis, Joey Mullis, Amanda Poore, Frank Mullis, Jr., Ashley Mullis, Amber Mullis, Michelle (Mark) Hile, Clyde Miller, Jr., Pricella (Terry) Green and Melisa Harvie; 24 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.   

The Visitation for Mr. Mullis will be on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 with Bro. James Sherman officiating. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
