Jessie D. Hobby

Jessie D. Hobby, age 78, passed away September 7, 2019. He was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Clayton “Dick” Hobby. He worked for many years as a Boilermaker for a variety of different companies. He proudly served in the United States National Guard for over 28 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He will be greatly missed.                 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clayton “Dick” and Essie Mae Eubanks Hobby; sisters, Linnie Laura “Duck” Butler and Margaret “Dink” Howell; brother, Jack Clayton Hobby.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 53 years, Joette Breland Hobby; children, Yvette (Al) Hillman, Shawn (Raeanne) Hobby, Percy Lance (Brenda) Hobby and Jelene Hobby; grandchildren, Dakota, Donavan, Aaron, Kassidy, Annie, Devan, Cole, Nick, Timothy, Ryan, Levi, David and one great grandchild on the way; sister, Essie Mae “Coot” (Ricky) Cochran; mother-in-law, Cleo Breland; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.        

The Visitation for Jessie Hobby will be Monday, September 9, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 10, 2019 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Carl Randall, Bro. Wilburn Bolen and Bro. Shane Giles officiating.  Burial will be in Holmes Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers include Walter Maples, Richard Maples, Mike Anders, Don Barry, Larry Odom, and Bobby Stevenson.  Honorary pallbearers are Dakota Hobby, Devon White, Donovan Hillman, and Aaron Hillman.
