Karen Sue Green

Mrs. Karen Sue Baxter Green, age 76, of Lucedale (Central Community) passed away on August 01, 2018. She was born in George County to the late Alfred and Myrtle Baxter. She owned and operated Green’s Chevron with her husband, the late Mr. Eldred Green, Sr., in the Central Community for many years. She was an active member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church. She served on the church hostess committee for many years. She enjoyed serving both the community and church with generous donations for those in their time of need. She would open her home to all family and friends to ensure unity. It was important to her that family values were celebrated because of her Christian beliefs.  One of her favorite things was to cook Sunday lunch for all of her family. She passed suddenly on a wonderful, exciting, and much wanted sightseeing trip to North Dakota with Tonya and Eldred. She experienced so many new things in the last few days and had a wonderful time. She made wonderful memories with all of her family in the last few weeks of her life.    

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eldred Green, Sr.; parents, Alfred and Myrtle Baxter and brother, John William “Billy” Baxter.  

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Robbin (Perry) Garner; son, Eldred Jr. (Tonya) Green; grandchildren, Ramsey (Danny) Byrd, Dustin (Alison) Green, Ryan Fallon, Tristan (Aaron) Diaz and Corey Green; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Garner, Ally Byrd, Case Green, Abby Byrd and Colton Green; numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  

The Visitation for Mrs. Sue Green will be on Saturday, August 04, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 05, 2018 at Shady Grove Baptist Church with a one hour visitation prior to the service. Bro. Bruce McKenzie and Bro. Ronnie Maxie will be officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and special nephew, Dustin Green, Ryan Fallon, Corey Green, Danny Byrd, Aaron Diaz and Dennis Baxter. Honorary Pallbearers are Jeffrey Garner, Case Green and Colton Green.
