Mary F. Dean

Mrs. Mary F. Dean, age 81, of Benndale passed away Monday, August 13, 2018 with her loving family by her side. She was a 1954 graduate of Vancleave High School. She was of the Baptist faith who walked with grace and unconditional love. She enjoyed spending time in her flower beds. She could often be found riding on the back of her husband’s motorcycle. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. She was the matriarch in the family and will be greatly missed.           

She is preceded in death by her parents, Newton W. Fountain and Josephine Lane Fountain; siblings, B. C. Corbello, Stanley Fountain, Joseph Fountain, Rannie “Peewee” Fountain and Eugene “Vody” Fountain.     

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 55 years, James Douglas Dean; children, Karen (Jeff) Harper, Patricia Faye Cobb, James H. (Shelly) Dean, Roy L. (Louise) Dean and Douglas B. Dean; siblings, Bobbie Parnell and Bryant Fountain; 9 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.      

The Visitation for Mrs. Mary F. Dean will be on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, August 16, 2018 beginning at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Dale Dean and Bro. Brian Havens officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Methodist Cemetery in Benndale. Pallbearers include Jesse Harper, Justin H. Dean, Nicholas Harper, Victor Dean, Austin Holder and James Aaron Dean. Honorary pallbearer will be Nathan Lynn Holder.   

The family will gather for a meal at Benndale Community Center following the funeral service on Thursday.
