Nelda Fairley

Nelda Fairley, age 82, of Lucedale passed away August 28, 2019. Ms. Nelda was a 1956 graduate of McLain High School. She worked for many years as a Seamstress for the Basilla Sewing Factory in Leakesville. She was a founding member of the New Life Baptist Church in Leaf, Mississippi and maintained her fellowship there. While living in Lucedale, she attended New Hope Missionary Church with her niece Mary. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many.           

She is preceded in death by her parents, Neely and Ida Fillingim Fairley; siblings, Yvonne Sylvester, Smyrna Breland, Vernon Fairley, Florene Fairley, Naomi Patrick and Gloria Edwards. 

Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, C. L. (Nell) Fairley; sister, Mable Breland; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

The Visitation for Nelda Fairley will be Friday, August 30, 2019 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at New Life Baptist Church in Leaf, Mississippi. The Funeral Service will follow beginning at 11:00 AM in the church sanctuary with Bro. Norman Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the New Life Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers include Lynwood Mallette, Shane Savage, Josh Everett and Hollis Breland.
