On Tuesday, April 2nd, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, and Friend, Daniel Lavelle Walters,52, was welcomed into the arms of his Heavenly Father. Danny’s greatest love and the source of his highest pride was his family; wife, Tressa Hilbun Walters, daughters, Lauren Kirkwood and her husband Drew, daughter Breanna Walters, son, Nathan Walters, and his most recent love, Rhett Kirkwood, his only grandson. These family members along with his parents David and Marie Walters, sister Angie (Sam) Richardson, and more friends and colleagues that could ever be named, will continue to honor his legacy by living life to the fullest.
Danny was always surrounded by his family, whether at home, on vacation, hunting, or gardening. It is a wonderful testament to him as a husband and father that his grown children were always near, and always wanted to be doing what dad was doing. Danny was generous with his time. He would make a gift that would take countless hours to complete, and then present it to a friend or family member just because he loved them. His garden was a place of sanctuary and sharing. You never knew when a dozen eggs and bag of squash or beautiful tomatoes would show up on your porch from the hands and heart of Danny. Generosity sharing, friends and family were things that brought Danny happiness.
Danny found joy in life’s simple pleasures; fishing with his family, tilling the soil in his back yard, visiting with friends on the porch, watching football while the grill was hot. He loved his country, a true patriot. His big infectious laugh could make you join in without even knowing what was funny. For these and countless more reasons, Danny has a space in our lives that will forever be his alone.
