Gary Sweazy Obituary

Gary Lynn Sweazy, 71, of Lucedale, Mississippi, passed to his heavenly home on January 20, 2021 at Stone County Memorial Nursing Home and Rehab in Wiggins, Mississippi. He was a native of Spencer County, Kentucky, a retired truck driver, and a veteran of the US Air Force. Gary loved life, he loved the Lord, and his family. He had a great sense of humor, a smile that lit up a room, and he never met a stranger.

Gary was born December 7, 1949, to the late Earl J. Sweazy and Lydia Ann Barnhart in High Bridge, Kentucky. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Jennifer Travis.

He is survived by his loving wife, Michele “Myke” Sweazy; two children, Heather Nicole DeZarn (Brandon) and Jordan Sweazy; two step-children, Julie Calvetti (Aventino) and Joey Convery; four grandchildren, Laura-Elizabeth, Conner, Mylie and Isaac DeZarn; 8 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Due to Covid restrictions, the family will hold a memorial service in the spring.
