Henry AL Merritt

Henry Al Merritt, age 74, passed away June 13, 2021. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He worked as an Electrician for many years at Halter Marine. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandsons. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother and friend to many.             

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lige Donnis and Dora Lee Merritt; brother, Donnis Merritt; sisters, Rowanna Smith and Lavonia Ott.     

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 48 years, Linda Newton Merritt; son, Chris Merritt; grandsons, Collin and Conner Merritt; brother, Paul (Carol) Merritt; sister, Ada Butts; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Visitation for Henry Al Merritt will be Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home chapel beginning at 1:00 PM with Bro. Terry Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Sweetwater Cemetery. Pallbearers include Lauren Turner, Stacy Merritt, Dustin Smith, Jason Tillman, Bryce Tillman and Derrick Smith.
