James “Jimmy” Edward Anderson, age 71, passed away August 5, 2022. He was born November 8, 1950 in Pascagoula, Mississippi to Henry and Virgie Mae Anderson. He was a 1968 graduate of Pascagoula High School, a 1970 graduate of Jackson County Jr. College and a 1972 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. He retired from Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding in 2011. He loved to read, travel, collect antiques, spend time with his family and friends, and collect information and documents about the Anderson family tree. He spent hundreds of hours in libraries and courthouses and traveled many miles in Mississippi, Alabama, and South Carolina in preparation of writing the Anderson family history which he titled THE ANDERSONS – Then and Now.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jack Anderson, Bob Anderson and Joe Anderson; sisters, Ruby Freeman and Pat Bushman.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sisters, Willie Ruth Lee, Fay Green, and Margie (Willie) Hutchinson; brother, Paul (Lois) Anderson. He is also survived by two daughters, Louise Anderson and Jennifer (M.L.) Patrick; three granddaughters, Samantha (Justin) Boulware, Katelyn (Dylan) Eckhoff, and Raven (Hamas) Anderson-Tahir; great grandsons, Jaxon Boulware and Rowen Boulware all of Lucedale, Mississippi.
The Visitation for James “Jimmy” Edward Anderson will be Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mercy Ministries. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, August 10, 2022 beginning at 11:00 AM in the church sanctuary with Bro. Jamie Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in New Antioch Cemetery. Pallbearers include Justin Boulware, Dylan Eckhoff, Leroy Green, Tommy Green, Chuck Anderson and Doug Lee. Alternate Pallbearer will be Caleb Roberts.
