Janice Lambert Holland, age 65, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026. Born and raised in George County, she was a 1978 graduate of George County High School and later continued her education at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Janice dedicated over 20 years of faithful service to the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Lucedale, a division of the USDA, where she built lasting friendships and touched many lives.
She found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments—painting, searching for unique rocks and arrowheads, and playing the piano. She cherished worshiping the Lord at Riverside Full Gospel Church in its early years, where her faith was an important part of her life. She was also a devoted Alabama football fan who loved cheering on her team.
Janice was a loving mother, sister, and friend whose kindness and a little bit of sass will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Above all, her greatest pride and deepest joy was being a “Grammy,” a role she treasured with all her heart.
Her memory will live on in the love she shared and the lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and William E. Lambert; sister, Bobbie Jean Hunt.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Heather (Doug) Erkhart and Candice (Josh) Stone; grandchildren, Garrett (Brandy) Fallon, Hunter Fallon, Nick Erkhart, Chelynn Erkhart, Ivy Stone, and Penny Stone; great grandchild, Aubriana Fallon; siblings, Patricia Fuentes, Judy Whitsett, JoAnn Dunn and a very special pet, Dot; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Visitation will be Saturday, April 4, 2026 from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 4:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Jamie Cochran and Bro. Darren McNeese officiating. Burial will follow in Billy Dickerson Family Cemetery. Pallbearers include Doug Erkhart, Josh Stone, Garrett Fallon, Hunter Fallon, Nick Erkhart, Brian Whitsett, Kevin Welford, and Rob Whitsett.
