Joseph "Lavon" Beech Obituary

Mr. Joseph Lavon "Buggar" Beech, age 74, passed away on January 19, 2021. He was a faithful member of The First Pentecostal Church in McLain, MS. He was a loving husband, father, and paw paw whose greatest joy was spending time with his family.  He was a hard worker, who spent most of his life in the construction industries. His true love was being outside with his horses, cows and building things. He was loved by many and will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Melba Beech; his parents  Horace and Martha Beech; daughter, Lisa Beech; brothers, William Beech, Lamar Beech, and Karl Allen Beech; sisters, Gladys Cottingham and Liza Gray.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Dorothy Beech; son, Phillip (Michele) Beech; Daughter, Marcia Prentiss; son-in-law of 30 years, Robert Prentiss; stepsons, Anthony (Jeanne) Hobby, Steven (Jerrica) Hobby, Jimmy Ray (Tammy) Hobby; stepdaughter, Melissa (Stacy) Dueitt;  grandchildren,  Tamra(Joe) Fitzer, Lindsey Beech, Laykin Beech, Robin(Dustin) Smith, Mallory(Tony) Neely, Anna Prentiss, Allie(Austin) Herring,14 step grandchildren; great grandchildren,  Tayla & Koda Fitzer, Adaline Welford, BryLee, Kaelyn & Tucker Smith, Dawson, Drew & Madilyn Neely, Andi Grace Herring; 4 step great grandchildren; Siblings, Ruthie Grimes, Wesley (Margaret) Beech, Annette Freitas.

The visitation will begin at 11:00 AM at Moments Funeral Home in Leakesville, Mississippi and the Funeral Service will follow beginning at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Bro. Daniel Hanks will be officiating with Brothers Karl Causey and Pat Davis assisting. Pallbearers include : Kerney Kittrell, Jimmy Welford, Gene Brown, Freddie Brown, Pogo Lewis, David Turner. Honorary Pallbearers are Robert Prentiss and Jimmy Ray Hobby.  Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah United Pentecostal Church cemetery.
