Mary Griffin

Mary Griffin, age 86, passed away August 20, 2020. She was a member of Journey Community Church, formally Southside Baptist Church.  She taught the Ladies Sunday School class for over 40 years.  She loved traveling. She spent her time traveling all over the United States and was privileged to get to go to the Holy Land 7 times. She lived in Iran with her husband and son for over a year. She loved being around her family and friends.  She is truly missed.

Ms. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Griffin; parents, Ada & Van Gunter; brothers, Berchard Gunter, J.V. Gunter, and Robert “Burns” Gunter; granddaughters, Jillian Goff and Meleah Griffin.   

She is survived by her children, Rebecca (Kenny) Goff and Phillip (Tina) Griffin; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.

The Visitation for Mary Griffin will be Tuesday, August 25, 2020 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 PM with Bro. Kenny Goff and Bro. Barry Jemison officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery, where Ms. Griffin will be laid to rest next to her husband.
