Minnie Vermell McLean

Minnie Vermell Josey Mizell McLean, age 90, passed away October 17, 2021. She attended Sandhill Missionary Baptist Church most of her life. She was a proud military wife and actively participated in the local VFW. She enjoyed sewing, hunting, fishing and growing beautiful flowers. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was the matriarch of five generations and will be deeply missed.   

She is preceded in death by her first husband and father to her children, William Edward Mizell, Sr.; husband, John McLean; siblings, infant brother, Bertha Mae Josey Dueitt, Loretta Opal Josey Bond Head, James Otis Josey, Troy Lee Josey, Buby Jane Josey Brannon and Lavon Josey.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, William Edward Mizell, Jr, Helen Eretta Mizell (Bubba) Dickinson, Harris (Mildred) Mizell, Opal Ann Mizell Parnell and Bobby Gene (Connie) Mizell; siblings, Harold Cleveland Josey, Aubrey Gene Josey and Evelyn Josey Bradley; nine grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; numerous other relatives and friends.              

The Visitation Minnie Vermell Josey Mizell McLean will be Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Pentecostal Cemetery.
