Monica Lynn Durant, age 51, passed away April 1, 2021. She was a graduate of West Lauderdale High School in Collinsville, Mississippi. She continued her education at Mississippi State University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Special Education. She worked for many years with the Special Needs students in Meridian, Mississippi. She was an avid Alabama Football fan. She greatly enjoyed spending any free time outdoors, in the sun, at the beach or the pool. Above all, she loved her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her step-mother, Nancy Goff; grandparents, Louis Scarbrough, Maxine Scarbrough, Edmond and Wanda Harris, Sybil Marguerite Goff and Winfred Darnell Goff; uncle, Louis Scarbrough, Jr.; step-brother, Guy Hollis.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, William Durant; children, Jesse Paul (Erica) Mosley, Dalton (Brittney) Mosley and Lorrna Rose Harris; grandchildren, Grayson, Rowdy, Kannon, Addie Sue and Layton James Mosley; parents, Frances (Bob) Harris and Buddy Goff; sister, Jessica (Garrett Ip) Harris; step-brothers, Raymond Hollis and Kerry Hollis and step-sister, Cindy Cumbest; aunt, Elaine (Dobbin) Parker; numerous other relatives and friends.
The Visitation for Monica Durant will be Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow beginning at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with her uncle Bro. David Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Cemetery in Wade, Mississippi.
