Newton Warren Smith

Newton Warren Smith, age 63, passed away March 22, 2024.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Charles “Jack” Smith and Lillie Mae Smith; siblings, Alfreda Williams, Alphonse Williams, Mae Edna Webb, Robert Dan Williams and Joe Warren Smith.       

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving brothers and sisters, Sarah Smith, Jackie (late Trudy) Smith, Martin R. (Ertha) Smith, Pearlie R. Smith, Christine Smith, Mable R. Smith, Michael (Shawna) Smith; favorite nephew, Jacques M. Smith; one maternal aunt, Rosalyn Sims; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

The Visitation will be Friday, March 29, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home in Leakesville. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. Fred R. McCann officiating. Burial will follow in New Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jacques M. Smith, Martin Ray Leverette, Randall Sanders, Tony Lewis, Willie McCann, Jr. and Freddie Hammond. Honorary pallbearers include Jackie Smith, Martin R. Smith, Michael Smith, Gary Taylor and Jimmy Washington.
