Robert Wayne Fant, Jr., age 49, of Hurley, Mississippi, was born on January 23, 1977, in Pascagoula, Mississippi. He peacefully passed away in his home on March 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after courageously winning his battle with cancer.
Robby was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Tasha Fant; his sons, Cayden and Brady Fant; his mother, Nona Fant; his sister, Michelle Graham (David), and their children, Abby and Alex; and his brother, Kevin Fant (Keira), and their children, Kale, Kamryn, and Kole.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wayne Fant, Sr.; paternal grandparents, J.T. and Dorothy Fant; maternal grandparents, Palmer and Louise Murphy.
Robby served as a Deacon at Wade Baptist Church, where he lived out his strong faith and love for the Lord each day. He touched countless lives through his kindness, humility, and unwavering spirit. Robby never met a stranger, and through his work at Chevron, he had a special gift for turning coworkers into lifelong friends.
He had a deep love for the outdoors and cherished every moment spent hunting with his boys, creating memories that will last a lifetime. He also enjoyed weekends in Starkville cheering on his Bulldogs and attending classic car shows were two of his favorite pastimes.
The Visitation will be Friday, April 3, 2026 at Wade Baptist Church from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Randy Von Kanel and Brother Jimmy Smith. Burial will follow in the Johnson Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jeff Hinton, Jason Porter, Ernie Lewelling, Jerry Loper, Greg Welborn, Brannon Waters, Gilbert Verrett, and Joel Pierce.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to The Fighting for Fant Foundation through any Singing River Federal Credit Union branch to support local families battling cancer and in need of financial assistance.
A special thank you to Dr. Cory Carter and staff and the Ocean Springs Cancer Center Chemotherapy staff for taking the absolute best care of him .
Robby’s legacy of faith, love, and kindness will live on in all who knew him.
