Simon Buford Havard

Simon Buford Havard, age 80, passed away October 5, 2020. He worked for many years in the oil fields as a derek hand and as a welder. He also did small engine repair. He enjoyed gardening and playing the guitar. He was a member at Rhymes Missionary Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, wonderful father and PawPaw who will be greatly missed.           

He is preceded in death by his son, Adam Jason Havard; parents, Charles Arch and Ella Kate Havard, siblings, Charles Havard, Clarence Havard, Julia Havard, Kate Havard, Oscar Havard, Rosa Lee Manning, Rushie Dearman and Pallie Rhymes.        

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of almost 60 years, Zelma Elizabeth Harvison Havard; children, Buford (Cheryl) Havard, Michelle (Dwayne) Clark, Robbie (April) Havard and Vickie (Tim) Bishop; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends.                  

The Visitation for Simon Havard will be Friday, October 9, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Chris Wells and Bro. Brian Pfeiffer officiating. Burial will follow in Mohoba Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers include Joey Colburn, Josh Parnell, Cody Dupree, Ralph Finch, Jr., Wesley Harvison, Will Harvison, Shannon Havard and Brian Pfeiffer.
