William Lamar “Peewee” Lewis, age 85, passed away April 5, 2024. He proudly served in the United States Army and spent time representing his country in Germany. Many people knew him through his company, Lewis Trucking. He attended Mt. Calvary United Pentecostal Church his entire life. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 430 and enjoyed serving as a Shriner. He was a loving father and grandfather who will be missed.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Donita Childress Lewis; son, William Lamar “Marty” Lewis, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Deborah (Frankie) Welford, Cheryl (Cary) Jones and Tammy (Stan) McLeod; grandchildren, Justin (Krista) Welford, Haley Welford, Hope Welford, Colby Jones, Channinge (Brooks) Cannon, Colin (Layne) Jones, Carigan Jones, Ryan McLeod, Landon (Hannah) McLeod, Neely McLeod and Stance McLeod; great grandchildren, Camden Welford, Dara Welford, Grayson Welford, Nolan Pierce, Isaiah Jones, Kaisley Jones, Orson Cannon, Carys Cannon, Ridley Cannon, Willa Jones, Issac McLeod, Cole McLeod, Madison McLeod, Luke McLeod, Lilli McLeod and Lainey McLeod; dear friend, Dottie Chavers; numerous other relatives and friends.
The Visitation will be Monday, April 8, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Mt. Calvary United Pentecostal Church. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM in the church sanctuary with Bro. Larry Havard officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis Cemetery. Pallbearers include Frankie Welford, Cary Jones, Stan McLeod, Colby Jones, Colin Jones and Stance McLeod. Honorary Pallbearers include Marlowe Lewis and Landon McLeod.
